Me, Karla and the crew at @Karla “hustleGRL” photoshoot. Photos and behind the scenes video coming soon
SHASH Photography - by this time we've all become very familiar with the great work of SHASH Photography (Follow The L's official photographer) and we are proud to see such a talented man grow within such a short amount of time.

Just last week Nabil Shash of SHASH Photography and team did a photoshoot with Karla 'HustleGRL' Moy (the hardest working teen in Toronto, hands down). Luckily there was behind the scene's footage (shot by Kimba M) of the shoot and the pics came out GREAT!

Shash definitely did take Karla out of that seemingly "teeenage" look and Karla's maturity definitely did shine through the lens. She's not 17 years old anymore Toronto!

You really have to give it up to TFHouse for the creativity, he's definitely giving people something unexpected.

DAVID DELISCA - hands down one of my favorite poets of all time and one of the most clever lyricits I know. I was super excited when he forwarded me this project he did. DAVID DELISCA (yes the Ah-Yo BB poet) has done a cover for THE WEEKND mixtape and by far it blew me away listening to it.

Follow The L for more on DAVID DELISCA!

"Bring the drugs, baby/I can bring my pain," - Wicked Games.
THE WEEKND - Toronto's very own newest buzz has seamlessly made it to be EVERYONE's number 1 mixtape and that goes for major industry heads as well. They've managed to keep a low personal profile while bringing it back to what it's really about, MUSIC!

Easily the mixtape of the year, it seems to be picking up faster than Drake did. Rolling Stone, is no exception, did a cover story on the group describing their sound and getting those familiar with the lead singer Abel Tesfaye (yes he's habesha). Rolling Stone goes on by describing the music as "haunting" which is a pretty accurate description when really taking in the worlds to Wicked Games. For the full article click on ROLLING STONE - THE WEEKND

It the rising success that THE WEEKND has been having we pray that it continues and we hope that they're able to really live up to House of Balloons and give us more of stuff like this!

THE WEEKND - it's without question that the entire city of Toronto including our very own Drake has been going ape nuts over THE WEEKND. I can easily say without any hesitation that they got next and to be honest the dope shit they've been coming out with, rightfully so.

THE WEEKND created a huge buzz with What You Want then dropped Wicked Games which swept through Toronto within HOURS like a tsunami. At their high of demand THE WEEKND drops the mixtape House of Balloons. If you download ANYTHING from Follow The L - this mixtape right here is a MUST HAVE in your collection.

TORONTO - just last Thursday the lovely MISS DAVID released the video to her newest single Are You Ready? I heard the song before and found myself really vibing to it. Kudos to MISS DAVID for bringing it back and really giving it that old school vibe and not being sucked into producing this new modern RnB nonsense.

One thing I gotta say is I like the sound this girl is giving us and I can not wait to see her grow as a vocalist. The video was fairly good aside from the acting in the beginning but I did enjoy how they tied in the first scene with the last.

TEDDY F HOUSE - for those who haven't heard this dude before, you're late! Have no fear, that's what Follow The L is for. If I could name the top 5 up and coming artist to come out of toronto's scene TEDDY F HOUSE would without a doubt be right up there with THE WEEKND without a doubt.

His latest song Fade featuring Devin Wilson is genius to say the very least. The beat kind of sounds a little calypso and I can definitely see a bunch of people adding this to their playlists for the summer.

TORONTO - There's a new artist emerging out of our city named KID KOLD, a member of the Young Veterans whom's cypher was pulled off YouTube courtesy of BET, who really has a love for HipHop. KID KOLD took it upon himself to release his new track this year as a tribute to J Dilla and to commemorate the 5th anniversary of his death.

Leave your comment below on your thoughts.

TORONTO - All eyes are on Canada right now and rightfully so! The world has given Toronto some light and is allowing our wonderful talent to finally be heard outside of this gorgeous city. There is definitely no exception when it comes to RnB - Toronto definitely can roll with the best of the best.

The Weeknd is an artist I've been recently following heavy and one thing I absolutely adore from this artist is that he keeps leaving me wanting more. No matter how hard I search for more music or content - findings are limited. However, when The Weeknd does put out a new track like Wicked Games believe the entire city is buzzing about it.

Follow The L is definitely following The Weeknd

LUU BREEZE - Toronto we should really salute this man for the quality of music he's been providing us all. I by far have been blown away with LUU BREEZE and feel that he's grown so much within such a short period of time. Comparing his first single Stick Up For Love and his new single J.O.S.H he's taking his music in a completely different direction, and I like it!

J.O.S.H was produced by Toronto's very own Soundsmith and the video is simply breathtaking!! The teaser was posted just a few days ago.

Kudos on the trailer to his video for his next single J.O.S.H (Jealous Ones Still Hope) - LUU BREEZE we see you.

MY CITY MY STORY - It's no secret that Toronto is full of incredible talent but I couldn't help but to be blown away with the amount of passion behind each of these individuals when watching this clip. Kudos to Kate Fraser for organizing such a program that gives aspiring photographers the encouragement, equipment, space and skills to follow their dreams in pursing their art.

Toronto you should be proud that programs like these exist and give you the opportunity to get involved within your community.

LOVE LETTERS & BROKEN HEARTS V.2 - One of the most anticipated mixtapes of 2011 without question is the second volume of LOVE LETTERS & BROKEN HEARTS! Toronto's very own DJ Lissa Monet & DJ P PLUS came together last year to give us the first LOVE LETTERS & BROKEN HEARTS which was the talk of the city (and beyond) for months on end. Once announced that there was a sequel in the world an unexplainable amount of excitement brewed inside of me and everyone else who took in the first volume.

It's as though the genius never stops. Last year's copy of LOVE LETTER & BROKEN HEARTS was a project like no other. DJ P Plus put together an amazing mix of the best of the best love songs while DJ Lissa Monet held it down flooding the second disc with our favorite songs of heartache.

LOVE LETTERS & BROKEN HEARTS V.2 is another 2 disc treat they've cleverly created playing role reversal. This year DJ Lissa Monet pours her heart out with 33 tracks of nothing but PURE LOVE while DJ P PLUS gives us access to the broken heart of a man in 32 tracks.

Expect to experience serious highs and lows with this mixtape (only for those who REALLY take it in) with tracks from Donnell Jones, Robin Thicke, Seal, Ayah, Foreign Exhange and many many more. One thing we can always count on with these two is their support of local talent. They blend both classic hits with some modern locals within these tapes which makes it that much more personal.

    Great work @djlissamonet & @djpplus!!!

TORONTO - It's your boy DANIEL "Wonda Bread Green" WORTHY has produced yet another one. The creative genius has done it yet again with another impressive release of his video Smoked Out. DANIEL WORTHY has been featured on Follow The L before within it's first few months of launching and at that time he was better known for his production.

Although this dude can provide you one hell of a beat it's within his own interest to pursue a rapping career. The video released is surely a day in the life of the young Toronto native full of Jack Daniels Budweisers & blunts.

TORONTO - It's not shock to us that we have a such a large amount of local talent that has yet to get tapped into. KITANA is an example of just that, also known as PONYTAILZ for her wickedly sick dance moves she's gone into another area of arts, singing.

Follow The L has without a doubt been a huge supporter of KITANA with her first single and now she's released another banger. Take in her latest track produced by Chuck - That Girl .

Toronto's very own DJ SWISS has come through in a clutch for us all annually with his release of his mixtape NUFF TALKING. Luckily he's delivered yet another wonderful mix of smooth RnB tracks that will surely serve it's purpose. When talking to DJ SWISS he made it clear that his aim with NUFF TALKING was to provide listeners with something that does the talking for them and sends a very clear message after (or while) listening to it.

Need we really say more? NUFF TALKING Vol. 5 has impressed Follow The L and is undoubtedly a music must have. Just in time for Valentine`s Day you can not go wrong having this play in the background while picking your date up or dropping them off or even while you`re chilling after a few drinks. Be prepared to enjoy the best of Case, Donnell Jones, Ginuwine, Monica and many more.

RICK ROSS - The release of Rick Ross' newest video for Devil In A New Dress has the entire city of Toronto smiling.  I was pleasantly pleased when watching the video (after it was forwarded it to me from a New Yorker) and seeing familiar Toronto's landmarks. It's amazing to see that Toronto is actually being recognized as the major city that it is.

None the less, the video is hot along with the song....continue reading to watch ....
