Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty is an exhibition organized by the Costume Institute, at NYC’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, to commemorate the extraordinary contributions of the late Alexander McQueen to the world of fashion. The exhibition, which runs from May 4th to July 31st, will feature approximately one hundred of McQueen’s most iconic ensembles. This is a great opportunity to witness the work of one of fashion’s most influential, provocative, and creative designers. If you can’t attend the exhibition, there is a catalogue, as well as a limited edition skull scarf, that will be available soon.

Below are just some of the amazing pieces that will be on display at the exhibition.

a pair of shoes with which one has a strong affinity

A while back I had blogged about the Jeffrey Campbell Salvatore shoe that I was quite fond of... Today, I came across these :
I love these ones even more, they are the original idea behind Jeffrey Campbell's Salvatore shoe. It was first created in 1938 by Salvatore Ferragamo for actress Judy Garland. If you don't know who she is, think The Wizard of Oz. Garland played Dorothy. Last year the original Rainbow Platform was re-released for a limited time and I am sure they went quickly. They really do make my heart pitter patter.

I do tend to feel that replicas of original pieces can be seen as insulting to the original artist but, in my eyes, Jeffrey Campbell can do no wrong and I therefore am still in lust with the new rendition of the shoe, and course dues were paid by entitling it "Salvatore".

If you are into the whole street-style movement, the name Bill Cunningham should most definitely ring a bell. Bill is a photographer for the New York times and has been for some time now. Most people would agree that the Harvard graduate is the man responsible for bringing about/developing street-style in a real way. The Documentary will be premiered today at Eco Fashion Week in Vancouver! The preview is heart-dropping and inspirational.

KELLY ROWLAND - is without a doubt making some songs that are far different from what she's been doing recently. Leaving the house beats along she's come back to RnB and has really set the bar with her most recent song Motivation. I can see this song causing some serious damage - the lyrics are enough to make you feel like you`re doing something wrong by listening.

The video isn`t too far behind on the sex-o-meter. Definitely HOT! and appropriate for the playful summer nights ahead.

THE PURSUIT: Motivation For Body Transformation - it's not often that you see young cultured adults promoting healthy living and being introduced to a healthier way of living thanks to my new commitment to my gym I too have found a new like to get in shape. A good friend of mine and founder of Local Fitness Pros (and Toronto native) Adam Ali has taken it upon himself to really push the envelope and do something different. He's decided to do something very daring and go public with his fitness transformation in hopes to inspire those like him to not only get fit but adopt a "I won't lose" mentality.

Adam Ali will be going following up his first part video with several other work out promo videos to keep everyone up to date with his progress as well as to set the example that it can be done.
