A phenominal night! Perhaps its was just that more exciting for the simple reason the Canada had an even bigger reason to tune in because of Drake & Melanie Fiona! None the less, the show was outstanding, if you missed it I'm sure you'll be able to easily follow along with the events of lastnight while going through you're Twitter timeline or Facebook homepage.
What would an award show be if you didnt have Lady Gaga opening up the stage?!?! The Grammys certainly wanted to start off with a bang and totally did that with Lady Gaga's collaboration with Elton John! Sadly I'd say that the her performance was lacking that usual "WOW...she's crazy" element to it. Nothing she did was new, other than have Elton perform with her, you could definitely afford to glance away from your television set and not miss a single thing.
Mary J. Blige did have an AMAZING performance alongside Andrea Bocelli for a tribute to Haiti. Of course the wonderful Wyclef Jean introduce their performance and his words of encouragement were a nice reminder that the Haitian people will overcome this and are remaining strong!
As much as I love T-Pain, Jamie Foxx & Slash as individual performers this collaboration was just terrible!
For those who feel differently, you are lieing to yourselves.
Jamie's stage enterance was a complete joke! It was too obvious that Tpain was directing the choir and adding Slash was just soo random!
Beyonce...sorry no, Sasha performed....and brought it. She even did the dutty wine at one point towards the end of her performance. Her outfit was nothing short of HOT! The bodyguard theme was different and very in unison which was impressive considering there were so many of them.
Beyonce walked away from last nights events with 6 grammys for Single Ladies & Halo...Hmmm who would have thought...*rolls eyes*!
An amazing tribute to Michael Jason was done last night as well. Celine Dion, Usher, Carrie Underwood, Smokey Robinson & Jennifer Hudson teamed up to sing Michael's Earth Song.
Right before the preformance Lionel Richie introduced Michael's two oldest children who had a message todeliever on behalf of their father.
Prince Michael and Paris came on stage together matching and had a simple message to tell everyone....
"Our father was always concerned about the planet."
The kids did an amazing job accepting their fathers Grammy, Michael we miss & love you!
The last performance of the night was by far the most anticipated and best!
Yes! It was Toronto's own Drizzy Drake with Lil Wayne and Eminem! They put on one hell of a performance except for the simple fact that the censor people went a little over board especially with Lil Wayne's verse.
Despite the haters, Grammy Officials, the still did a wonderful job!
