THE NUMBER OF SOMALIAN-CANADIANS that are dying out in Edmonton, Alberta is sky rocketing people. An article in the Toronto Star was published today talking about the amount of Somalian-Canadian families have moved out to Edmonton (mainly from Toronto & surrounding areas) in hope to find employment and returning home with one less family member.


"Since the summer of 2005, 29 Somali-Canadians ranging in age from 17 to 28 have been murdered in Alberta, in what police are calling an escalating gang and drug turf war amid the province’s booming oil economy"

Reporter Raveena Aulakah using one family in particular as an example. Mother Faduma Arab (in photograph) talks about her personal story about making her way to Edmonton to provide for her children and how she experiences the death of her son while trying to do that.
