Obsessive Compuslsive Cosmetics was founded 3 years ago by David Klasfeld who conducts seminars for make-up departments and television shows. He later teamed up with New York MakeUp artist Katie Pelligrino to create lip tar! The lipstick-lipgloss hybrid caught my attention in the Spring Issue of Zink Magazine. It comes in a tube, as lip gloss does, and is glided on. When applied, the lip tar takes the form of a satin lipstick. Although it was developped with the intention to be mixed with other lip products, the colour of the lip tars are intense enough to be worn as is. OCC does emphasize that it should be used in small doses to prevent leaking! OR, I suggest you find a good lip pencil to outline it. The lip tar comes in over 25 colours and is sold for $13/8ML.

The connection between Fashion, Beauty and Art is one that is undeniable. Fashion and Beauty is in itself an art form, so when the painter/sculptor Danny Sanz became a make up artist/teacher and started her own beauty line, it was no surprise. Sanz created the first professional make-up school in Europe in the 70s, so there is no need to question her knowledge when it comes to beauty products. Her makeup line is one that is versatile and can be used in all art categories.

I have come to the realization that a lot of ladies are afraid of lip liner. I think when one hears the term "lip liner" they automatically get unpleasant flashbacks of make-up in the 90s. Although I am actually still a fan of that now "passe" look, lip pencils are very useful in creating a modern day appeal.

Applying lip pencil around your lips before applying lipstick will give you a fuller look. Also, if you find it difficult to apply lipstick without going outside of the boarders of your lips, lip pencil is your friend! You can trace the outline of your lips beforehand and avoid any type of lipstick bleeding throughout the day/evening. You can also use lip pencil to fill in your lips completely and then apply lipstick over top of it, this too will prevent bleeding. There are so many different colors and textures of lip pencil that it is very easy to find a shade that matches whatever lipstick you use. I recommend any of the Velvet Matte Lip Pencils from NARS. Although these lip pencils can be used as lipstick, I prefer to use them as an outline before applying my lipstick.

TUESDAY LIPS - Lip Smackers and Glaceau Vitamin water teamed up a while back to bring you the Vitamin Schtick. Since I drink the "Focus" Strawberry-Kiwi vitamin water religiously, it has also become my favorite flavour in the Vitamin Schtick by default :)

On the pursuit of plum lipstick, I stumbled into MAC and came across "Cyber". Although I was looking for a matte colour (and this one is satin) I quickly realized that it barely had any shine so I went with it :)
