Let's talk about swimwear for a second. The summer is fast approaching, which can only mean one thing: time to hit the beach! So, for the courtesy of others, start hitting the gym now. It's not too late, and it'll save me from wanting to stick pins in my eyes. There's nothing worse than being in the presence of unattractive beach-goers who can easily be mistaken for marine life! Don't forget that at the beach, your body is your best, or worst, asset, and commands attention like no swimsuit ever could. But enough ranting and on to fashion...
I hope you're not planning on wearing last year's swim shorts. GQ would disapprove. Treat yourself and buy something fresh. Also, this may come as a surprise to some, but those heinous board shorts that guys think are cool are really not. I just don't get it. Are you wearing shorts or are those capris? Make up your mind! Like all clothes, swim shorts should be fitted appropriately.
This summer, buy a pair shorter, more fitted swim shorts. These have become prevalent in the collections of: D&G, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Diesel, Abercrombie and Fitch, and Hugo Boss, to name a few. Steal a page from the ladies and show some leg; it won’t hurt, I promise. I already bought a pair from Abercrombie and Fitch (pictured at top right) and cannot wait to wear them. Don’t worry about the length; they’re not that short.
Use common sense, however. This is not a case of one-style fits all. It somewhat worries me that Abercrombie and Fitch offers these swim shorts in an XL. On the bright side, however, if you have the body, flaunt it, and do it in style.
