Mostly rhyme in lyricism, his music extends far beyond the boundaries of hip hop. Not afraid to break into different territories, Jonathon Twiz has expanded his horizons by bringing together indie and electro inspired hip hop on his mixtape, After The Jump. His a appreciation for good music is clearly reflected in his choices to bring songs such as Spoon’s “Was It You”, Hot Chip’s “Shake A Fist”, and Washed Out’s “Feel It All Around” (just to name a few) in a creative hiphop form. Jonathon Twiz created this mixtape with the intention of expanding listener’s ears into sounds outside of their comfort zone of hip hop.

Originating from Toronto, Jonathon Twiz has always been involved in creativity. After parting ways with his previous indie rock band, The Wires, Jonathon Twiz became deeply motivated to bring his presence to the world, and more importantly keep music diverse and evolving. Always experimenting with new sounds and ideas, he makes it difficult to draw comparisons to himself in similar styles. This mixtape is one of many that will lead up to his eventual album debut, which will be a combination of different styles and genres. “I love and appreciate so many different types of music, that’s why I just can’t do one style, I have to do everything I like. It may work for me, or it may work against me, but at the end of the day, I’ve done what I feel apart of”
